EXPECTED ASPECTS OF
THE YEAR OF THE EARTH RAT
The Chinese New Year of the Rat begins on the 7th February 2008 and ends on January 25, 2009.
The Rat is a symbol of the water element, and 2008 is an “ Earth Year ” in
Chinese Astrology.
The year of the
“ Earth Rat ” will be strongly influenced by Earth and Water elements. These
two elements represent the cycle of birth and destruction which governs the
inter-relationship between the elements; The earth element will be overcome by
the water element. With the Earth element sitting on water this would normally
symbolize control, with the very strong water element this can cause conflict
between the water and earth element. Last year we witnessed more climate change
and natural disasters. The Global warming will intensify more in 2008 causing
more floating mass of ice in our oceans from the melting ice of Arctic and
Antarctic.
The Earth element represents mountains, and mountains give a sense of
strength and solid grounding, but the water element, which represents the ocean
will weaken the strong foundation of the mountains and they will become fragile. The year
ahead may appear to be stable, but there are a lot of silent conflicts and
tensions. The Rat represents the water element, and it will bring heavy
flooding or even tsunami disasters.
This year of the Earth Rat is the beginning of the next twelve year cycle. The
Earth Rat is the first of the Chinese zodiac animals.
The yang Earth element of this year can imply new beginnings between international
governments forming new relationships and peace. The positive influence of the
Earth Rat this year will see change of leadership in some countries. The
negative element of the yang earth element on the water element of the Rat will cause an unstable
earth element on water, causing such disasters as earthquakes, landslides and
collapsing buildings.
The Chinese Earth Rat, can represent the “Bloom of Romance” influencing romance
and sex scandals.
Anyone who is born in the years of the Horse will clash with the Earth Rat.
Therefore people born in such years have to be particularly careful in 2008. As
the Fire Horse is clashing with the Water Rat this year, the Horse can
experience more accidents involving fire and water and accidents travelling by
plane, trains and sea transport.
The Horse represents the fire element and the Rat represents the water
element causing lots of conflict and injury between the horse and the Water Rat
in this Earth year.
I would recommend that anyone born in the year of Horse, wear or carry a pendant
of a Ox, which will help to minimize the negative influences of the year of the
Earth Rat.
People who are born in the year of Horse will experience a more turbulent year
while travelling, sudden changes in career, or moving residence.
The Horse should avoid travelling to places the North
direction of where they live, and it is also not recommended for you to travel by
sea.
The other animal sign facing unfavourable influences in the year of the Earth Rat
is anyone born in the year of the Rabbit and the Rat. This will take the form of Self-Penalty. Such self-penalties will usually bring irritation and frustrations, and unforeseen illness and health problems for the people born in the
year of the Rabbit. I would recommend that anyone born in the year of Rabbit
wear or carry a pendant of a Ox, which will help to minimize the negative
influences of the clashing between the horse and the Earth Rat. People born in
year of the Earth Rat are in conflict with the Grand Duke and it is necessary to
carry an Ox pendant to minimize the negative energy or the conflict.
The Earth element represents different parts of the
body, such as the stomach, pancreas and muscle tissue, this year we
have to take particular care of any health problems associated with these areas. Everyone should be aware of Diabetes this year and
seek medial advice should your health start to deteriorate. Other illness
to be aware of this year due to the clashing of the horse and Earth Rat are high
blood pressure, heartburn, irregular heartbeat, inflammation, and kidney
problems. As such, it is advisable to take recommended doses of anti-oxidant, omega
3 oil or COQ10, which is good protection against cardiovascular diseases,
hyper-tension and inflammation problems.
You should always seek medial
advice before starting any type of new medications.
The people born in the year of the Ox, the Monkey, and the Dragon. Are most
compatible with the Earth Rat. These animals are into a year of harmony.
For anyone born in the year of the Pig, the Rabbit, and the Goat, this year
brings the anticipation of budding romantic relationships and rewarding
friendships. You can expect a busy social year with lots of opportunities to
develop new friendships.
The Feng Shui energies change from year to year. With this Chinese New
Year, starting on the 7th February 2008, it will be necessary to
acknowledge the shift of good and bad energies to different parts of your home
or office, so that you can take
necessary precautions if some bad energy happens to arrive at important
locations of our home or office.
The lucky directions in 2008 are: East, SE, NE and North.
Unlucky directions are: South, SW, West, NW and Centre.
White Star 1 ; is found in the Earth sector (the centre) of your home, the white
star 1 represents water, being featured in the earth section, can create
restrictions and conflict. To balance this with positive energy, place some
natural crystals and coins in the Earth sector (the centre) of your home.
Black Flying-Star 2 ; energies of sickness is found in the Knowledge sector
(Northwest) in 2008. To counteract sickness and financial loss from entering
your home hang a string of six metal coins.
Number 3 Flying-Star is found in the Children’s sector ( West Direction). This
flying star, represents conflict, arguments, robbery, lawsuits and financial
loss. Hang a six I Ching coins (Chinese ancient coins) in sector, decorate with
red coloured objects in the sector to remedy the bad energy.
In the year of the Earth Rat, the bad energy called “Five Yellow” – symbolizing
obstacles and misfortune, features in the Fame & Reputation Sector (South
Direction). If the south direction of your house consists of important rooms
such as
bedroom or entrances, it is recommended to hang a 6-rod metal wind chime there
to dissolve this bad energy. Avoid any red coloured objects in this sector,
decorate this sector with white or gold colours. The worst months will be in
February, August, and November.
Flying Star Six; will be found in the Career Sector ( North Direction). The
White Star six energy, represents prosperity, and wellness. This star also
represents travel. To enhance this positive aspect, you can hang six ancient Chinese coins in the north sector.
The Grand Duke energy representing lots of obstacles will be found in the North direction
this year. It is not advisable to do any earth or construction work in the North
direction, in the Year of the Earth Rat.
Flying Star Seven; will be found in the Relationship Sector (South-West
Direction). The star 7 represents scandal and gossip. To prevent scandal and
gossip involving family or people sharing the house, you will need to place 3 or
4 bamboo stems grown in clear glass vases of water in the Relationship Sector
(South-West Direction) of your home.
White star Eight; will be found in the Health Sector (East Direction). Star
Eight represents prosperity, therefore, the east area is the luckiest area of
2008. To enhance this luck, you can hang a bright light, keep this area well lit,
and decorate it with red colour. If your front door or bedroom is located
here you may find positive improvement with your wealth, health and
relationships
Purple Star Nine; will be found in the Prosperity Sector (South-East Direction).
The purple star nine represents future prosperity, marriage, descendants,
promotion and happiness, and brings luck. To enhance this luck place a green
plant with red flowers in this sector.
I would not advise for anyone to sit with their back facing the south while
working in the office. Your back would absorb the bad energies of conflict and
robbery. It is necessary to put a piece of red paper in the west sector of your
office to minimize such a bad influence.
If your front door faces the north in 2008, place a pair of Temple lions (not
Metal ones) just inside the house looking outwards as protective guardians for
the year.
